The new agreement will especially benefit the smallest companies saving them time and money. It enables them to avoid high legal fees, long customs procedures and redundant requirements regarding testing goods.

Despite being implemented in large parts, CETA still needs to be approved by the EU's more than 30 national and regional parliaments. Six parliaments have ratified the agreement so far. Slovenia is not among them.
