Prime Minister Marjan Šarec has said an epidemic is to be declared in Slovenia because of the new coronavirus.

Restrictions will also be imposed on cargo transport as of Monday when all universities, schools, and kindergartens in Slovenia will be closed as well. Two schools where infections occurred are already closed. Several events have also been canceled across the country, including the men’s alpine skiing world cup race in Kranjska Gora.

There are at least 82 confirmed coronavirus infections in Slovenia and the number is expected to increase further.
