Slovenia presented to reporters in Brussels the priorities of its presidency of the Council of the EU. The media was mostly interested in the demanding legislative package of measures for reducing greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030, popularly called Fit for 55. A proposal from the EU-commission in this respect is foreseen for the 14th of July.
Slovenian representatives also said Slovenia would strive for a breakthrough in terms of a progress of EU accession of Northern Macedonia and Albania- here a pivotal event will be the EU-Western Balkans summit in Slovenia on October 6th.
