One of Slovenia's two police trade unions, the PSS, whose members have been on strike since 11 January, said it was stepping up their efforts.
It started with a three hour work-to-rule at various locations across the country.
In order to ensure a higher level of public health safety among its citizens, the union's members will continue performing all the duties related to the enforcing of coronavirus restrictions.
Rok Cvetko, chief of the PSS Union: ''We rightly demand that the attitude of the minister and the government towards the police officers be based on respect, dignity and statehood and not on divisions, bargaining, deception and obscurantism, which we simply do not deserve.’’
Meanwhile, Interior Minister Aleš Hojs said the strike is timely-inappropriate and is politically motivated.
