Economy Minister Zdravko Počivalšek starts a ten-day visit to Australia and New Zealand today. The aim is to promote Slovenia as a tourist destination and drum up business.

A delegation of the Slovenian Tourist Board (STO) is also joining the minister.

Although Australia and New Zealand are a small market in terms of tourism, STO considers them important ones.

More than 30,000 Australians visited Slovenia last year, up about a fifth.
