New quarantine rules entered into force in Slovenia today for schools and staff at health care and social care institutions.

The staff will be exempt from quarantine in case of a high-risk contact, but they will have to get tested every day for seven consecutive days with a rapid antigen test and use a FFP2 face mask at work.

Kindergarten, primary and secondary school children, as well as, university students will also have to get tested with rapid tests for seven days, after a high-risk contact at school.
Health Ministry State Secretary FRANC VINDIŠAR said ,,this protocol will reduce the number of PCR tests by about 35%, but that there would be no problems with the status of those who will have recovered.’’

Some changes apply to the protocol of PCR testing as labs are being overwhelmed with huge numbers of tests.
