An orange weather alert has been issued for Slovenia's northwest and south regions for tonight and tomorrow, with officials expecting more heavy rain and strong winds.
Slovenia's Civil Protection advises residents in the Baška Grapa valley in the Municipality of Tolmin to evacuate again due to a danger of landslides and flooding. Ahead of the tonight's heavy rain forecast Miha Vencelj from Tolmin's civil protection office asked residents not to wait and move to safety. The same region already experienced flooding and evacuations at the end of last week. The heavy rainfall is forecast to start tonight and intensify tomorrow.
