Slovenia were beaten by Germany at the FIBA Basketball World Cup in Okinawa, Japan today. Both teams had entered the game undefeated but, despite a good start for the Slovenian team, they were ultimately beaten by 100 points to 71.
They led by 14 points after the first quarter but trailed by four at half-time. The score at that stage was 38-34 in Germany's favour.
Germany dominated the 3rd and 4th quarters.
Slovenia's top scorer was Luka Dončič with 23 points, while Germany's Dennis Mike Schroder scored 24 points.
Slovenia had already been guaranteed a place in the knockout stages of the tournament.
They will play Canada in the quarterfinals in Manila on Wednesday.
