The holiday is being marked with an event today.
Slovenia today will mark the return of the coastal region to the country. An event will be held in the town of Idrija. It will mark the 74th anniversary of the Paris Peace Treaty, which awarded the region to Slovenia. The keynote speaker at the ceremony will be a young scientist from Idrija who lives in the U.S., Nina Leskovec.
The ceremony will be aired live by public broadcaster RTV Slovenija.
