Slovenia's biometric identity card has claimed the award for best new national ID card. It won at this year's High Security Printing Conference in Abu Dhabi.
Each year, the winner is decided by a panel of international experts on ID and security documents.
Slovenia started issuing the new biometric identity cards last March.
The cards feature symbols of Slovenia from sport, history and culture, and have 34 security elements.
