Men are encouraged to grow facial hair in November to show support for men’s health, especially men affected by prostate and testicular cancer. Women can also participate by wearing fake beards they have knitted, crocheted or purchased. Prostate cancer claims the lives of more than 350 Slovenians annually. The funds the movement will raise during events in Slovenia this year will be put towards buying a urodynamic machine for the department of urology at the Ljubljana University Medical Centre.
