TEŠ, the only remaining coal-fired power plant in Slovenia, received the first test batch of coal from Indonesia today. It comes after the government declared a level one threat for power supply.

TEŠ said it would only be possible to prepare a strategy for foreign coal after testing is finished.

According to Premogovnik Velenje, the last active mine in Slovenia and sole source of coal for TEŠ, increasing output would take at least three years.

Meanwhile, the National Assembly passed a package of three bills aimed to ensure a stable supply of electricity and gas over the coming winter.
