According to officials, the first infected person, a Slovenian citizen, had come to Slovenia from Morocco via Italy. The man is being treated at the infection ward of the UKC Ljubljana hospital.
His doctor has also been quarantined, and his wife is on self-quarantine.
Meanwhile, Health Minister, Aleš Šabeder, confirmed the second coronavirus case in Slovenia, saying the person had been in contact with the first patient.
The National Public Health Institute is now calling on other Slovenian citizens who were on board the 29 February ATR938 flight from Morocco to the Marco Polo airport in Venice to watch out for signs of infection.
