Leaders from the Western Balkans gathered in Slovenia today for the Brdo-Brijuni summit.
They all stressed the importance of EU's enlargement for the stability of the region. Slovenian President Borut Pahor said the enlargement process has become a geopolitical issue.
The leaders also adopted several resolutions calling on the EU to help the region through the upcoming economic and energy crises, to create a visa-free system for the entire Balkans, and grant Bosnia an EU candidate status.
Today at the summit, Serbia's President Aleksandar Vučić also reaffirmed the excellent relations between Slovenia and Serbia, despite Slovenia's recognition of Kosovo's independence. The host, Slovenia's President Borut Pahor, said leaders at the summit focused on what unites them and not on their divisions.
