The 59th Golden Fox Women’s World Cup weekend is taking place in Kranjska Gora. One the first day Canadian skier Valerie Grenier won gold before Marta Bassino from Italy and Petra Vlhova from Slovakia. This is the first win for Canada in this discipline after1974, when Kathy Kreiner won gold in Pfronten in Germany. Also, Slovenian Ana Bucik is pleased with the outcome, as she reached her best rank in a giant slalom so far with rank 8.
Men competed in Switzerland, in Adelboden, where Marco Odermatt from Switzerland was first and confirmed his status as the king of giant slalom. Second was Kristoffersen from Norway and third Meillard, also from Switzerland. Best Slovenian was Žan Kranjec on rank 5.
