In 1898, Marie and Pierre Curie announce that they have isolated radium.
In 1947, Einstein publishes the general theory of relativity.
In 1982, Time Magazine voted the computer as man of the year.
In 1990, the results of the plebiscite are formally declared. Three days earlier a plebiscite was held on the independence of Slovenia. 93. 2 percent of eligible voters placed their votes, and 88. 2 percent voted for Slovenia's independence.

1964 - The Beatles are at the top of the American singles chart with 'I Feel Fine'.
1970 - George Harrison takes the No. 1 spot on the American singles chart with 'My Sweet Lord', with that he became the first ‘Beatle’ with a solo hit in America. The song was actually written for Billy Preston.
1976 - The Sex Pistols record 'God Save The Queen'.
1979 - Pink Floyd is at the top of the American album chart with 'The Wall'. On the album are also ‘Mother’, ‘Hej you’ and three parts of ‘Another brick in the wall’.

Leta 1792 se je rodil izumitelj Charles Babbage, ki velja za praočeta sodobnih računalnikov. Preračunavanje logaritmov ga je pripeljalo do iznajdbe prvega računalnika.
