In 1874, in Cologne, the German chemist Carl Bosch, who invented the technical process for ammonia, is born.
In 1929, in Vienna, rocket engineer and expert in space technology of Slovenian descent Herman Potočnik, nicknamed Noordung, dies. With a variety of ideas in his book the Problem of Space Travel has become one of the founders of space technology. Herman Potočnik is also the inventor of the geostationary satellite.

Leta 1703 se je rodil Ferdinand Avguštin Hallerstein, slovenski jezuit, ki ima svoj asteroid.
Leta 1770 se je v Stuttgartu rodil veliki nemški filozof Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel. Z idealistično filozofijo je dosegel vrhunec nemške klasike.
