Leta 1874 se je v Kamniku rodil slovenski pesnik in general Rudolf Maister, ki je leta 1918 poveljeval v bojih za Koroško in severno mejo.
Leta 1936 je na volitvah v Nemčiji nacistična stranka dobila 99 % glasov.
