In 1922, the tomb of Tutankhamen is discovered. A young water carrier from the expedition of the English Lord Carnarvon and archaeologist Carter, who were looking for the Egyptian tomb of the Pharaoh Tutankhamen, accidentally discovered stone steps in the sand. It was the top of the staircase that led to the door of the then unknown tomb. Twenty days later, they entered the 3300-year-old royal tomb. Tutankhamen’s mummy and several thousand treasures that were found in the tomb are considered to be one of the greatest discoveries in the history of archaeology.

1965 - 'Get Off Of My Cloud' by The Rolling Stones takes the No. 1 spot on the British singles chart.
1972 - 'I Can See Clearly Now' by Johnny Nash takes the top spot on the American singles chart.
1989 - 'Listen To Your Heart' by the duet Roxette is at No. 1 on the American singles chart.
1989 - Elton John takes the top spot on the British charts with his 50th hit; the song is 'Sacrifice'. Up till then only Elvis Presley and Cliff Richards managed to do that.
