The International Olympic Committee, has posthumously awarded Janez Kocijančič with the Silver Olympic Order.
Kocijančič, recently died at the age of 78. He served as president of the Slovenian Olympic Committee for 23 years, and was the head of the European Olympics Committee, the Slovenian Ski Association, and vice-president of the International Ski Federation.
Only two other Slovenes have ever received the Silver Olympic Order, gymnastics legends Miroslav Cerar and Leon Štukelj.
