Prime Minister Marjan Šarec has announced that he will step down, as he can no longer work under the current circumstances. He has announced early elections. He added he could not achieve what he set out to do with the current minority coalition. Šarec said that he would be ready to talk to anyone interested ahead of the upcoming elections. He and the leader of the SMC party, Zdravko Počivalsk, have already agreed to cooperate. Earlier, Finance Minister Andrej Bertoncelj announced his resignation, citing professional reasons.
