The police confirmed to the Dnevnik daily that inspectors have indeed filed a criminal complaint against the former PM. The police refused to mention any names on Wednesday, however according to information acquired by Dnevnik, there is no doubt that Bratušek has been charged over the case.
The future of the whole procedure against the former PM is now in the hands of state prosecutors, who will have to determine whether there is sufficient evidence to file a formal indictment and pursue the case in court, writes Dnevnik.
Criminal inspectors from the NBI conducted house searches at Bratušek's home in March this year. They also raided the ZaAB Alliance of Alenka Bratušek party and deputy offices, as well government offices. Bratušek is suspected of abusing office with the intent of making a gain, by nominating herself for the post of European Commissioner.
