The Ministry of Tourism also estimates that this could have a negative impact on tourist arrivals next year. The Croatian Auto club said that many drivers would turn to local and state roads in order to avoid additional costs. This may increase the risk of traffic accidents for both foreign drivers and local communities in Slovenia. Meanwhile the Croatian Ministry of Tourism announced talks with representatives of the Slovenian government to determine whether there was a possibility to change their decision.
