The ShopOrDrop team consists of Maša Judar, Miha Mlakar, Gašper Kolenc and Nejc Novak. The last two listed are the developers and have quite a lot of experiences with the development of mobile applications. Gašper Kolenc has designed and developed an entire family of applications dealing with beauty and fashion, with a total number of almost one million downloads. Both last year and this year he received the WWDC scholarship from Apple , as one of the 150 best talented young developers worldwide. Miha Mlakar is in charge of the user experience and design, and is just as well experienced in cooperation at mobile application development. Maša Judar cooperated at the development of mBank@Net mobile bank, and some other applications.

They even managed to convince the merchants
Maša Judar, the leader of the ShopOrDrop team, says that they have been negotiating on a pilot cooperation with two larger Slovenian dealers in fashion (Nama, Sportina). What convinced them?
"The idea came from my own experiences of buying clothes, and the experiences of my friends. The application helps people to solve the dilemma when buying clothes, when they need an advice whether something fits them, and whether they should buy it or not. It is also very helpful to all the 'unfortunate' men who have to patiently wait for hours in front of the changing cubicles for their wives or girlfriends to decide. The user simply makes a photo and sends it to trustworthy friends, their partner, their parents, or randomly chosen users of the application; the recipients get a so-called push notification and can answer immediately - 'shop' (it looks good) or 'drop' (forget it). Thus the application quickly and simply helps an individual to reach a decision about the purchase," says the leader of this year's winning team.
Thorough market testing
ShopOrDrop is an application for mobile phones which is solving shopping dilemmas when buying clothes. When a user can't decide which T-shirt or which trousers fit better, he/she can ask friends for help, and they advise him/her which one to buy - they press "shop" for purchase, or "drop" when they advise against it.
The idea for the winning application might seem quite simple at first glance, but the ShopOrDrop team claims it was thoroughly tested on the market.

"We made a number of in-depth interviews with the representatives from our target group. Thus obtained qualitative data were then tested quantitatively by a web survey. The use of mobile phones when shopping for clothes in our target group is quite common; more than 95% of the interviewees are already using it for that purpose. Most of them solve their dilemmas by sending photos, but they are aware of the imperfection of the existing solutions. It is quite surprising that in our target group both genres employ quite similar shopping procedures," says Maša Judar, the manager of the modern bank channels at NKBM, who also participated at the development of the mBank@Net progressive mobile bank.
ShopOrDrop is an application with a potential to attract wider masses, mostly the young generation, but considering the vast number of all kinds of applications for mobile operational systems, their marketing can be considered a peculiar art.

Cooperation with Slovenian merchants
Two of the prominent Slovenian clothes merchants, Sportina in Nama, have already shown interest in their applications.
