Coach Srečko Katanec says it’s a pity his team couldn't hold on to its lead a little longer. At the same time he added that one had to be realistic when playing against England, and that he wasn't disappointed. Coach Katanec also said that some of his players weren't 100% ready for the match.

Srečko Katanec also pointed out UEFA's strange decision for Slovenia's team to be at the stadium two hours before the match – time the team would otherwise use for rest.

The match was played in front of 82 thousand people at London's Wembley Stadium. That sets a new record for the number of people watching the Slovenian football team play.

Slovenia's next official match is in March against San Marino. Before that it will play a friendly against Colombia on Tuesday in Ljubljana.
