To protect their rights the guards are now setting up a trade union. They have presented some of the problems to the Human Rights Ombudsman Vlasta Nussdorfer today and they plan to visit the main labor inspector tomorrow.

The company Sintal employs nearly two thousand security guards or one third of all employees in the private security sector. Often the workers are on the job for 12 hours straight without the possibility of rest and all that for a minimum wage.
