An upgraded version of the Supervizor application, set up by the Corruption Prevention Commission, provides access to contractual payments made by public institutions. It reveals all those who received more than 200.000 euros in the last 12 years. As Dean of the Faculty of Administration, Stanka Setnikar Cankar received 630.000 euros through contractual payments, apart from her regular salary. The Minister of Education has decided to present her side of the story.

"I have been lynched by the media, but let's rather analyze the whole issue." She explained that the faculty is obliged to have accredited programs. At the same time the Act on Balancing public funds prevents the faculty from employing more people.

Due to the high demand at that time, the Faculty of Administration was in charge of ten centers and also accepted many part-time students. Minister Setnikar Cankar therefore stresses, that the payments did not come from the state budget, but from acquired funds from the open market.

Setnikar Cankar is considering filing a lawsuit against the Corruption Prevention Commission. "That's the advice that legal experts have been giving me. There is doubt as to whether the information has been correctly interpreted and whether it is complete," she added.

In the meantime the governing SMC Party of the Modern Centre has started talks on naming a new education minister.
