After losing EUR 1.44bn, the bank expects to break even this year. Chairman Janko Medja said that despite transferral of toxic loans on the Bank Asset Management Company, around 20% of bad loans still remained in the bank.

Management board vice president Gorazd Podbevšek expects a profit of several million. Blaž Brodnjak, another board member, said that based on the results from the first two months, that is definitely doable.

Furthermore, Brodnjak announced, that in April the bank will close 22 out of 143 offices across the country, as part of a restructuring process. 100 cash machines will also be removed.
