No government assistance has been given to Carinthia, even though the region is facing huge financial problems. For now, the economy of the region is being sustained by its metal processing industry. Many socially disadvantaged people are trying to find work across the border. Statistics on the economic performance of Carinthia show that after Prevent Global’s collapse over 1,000 workers have lost their job. Conditions in other enterprises also show that the situation is very bad for workers.

The average daily gross earnings in the region stand at 7,94 euros per hour, while the average gross wage is 1,391 euros.
