For the past two seasons, Prevc had to settle for silver in the World Cup. He has been inching closer and closer to the FIS Crystal Globe, and last year he finished equal on points with Severin Freund, but the German won the World Cup by virtue of having more wins.

"We encourage each other. Competition spurs you on and helps you improve. It’s great that we’re such a big team, especially during our conditioning workouts. When your body wants to shut down, you see a teammate who refuses to quit, so you say to yourself: no way is he better than me," said Slovenia’s top winter athlete about the inspiration he draws from his fellow teammates.

"I have never focussed on stage victories. I’m gunning for the top spot. I want to deliver throughout the season - from the first jump to the last," the always-humble Prevc said, confirming that his overall goal for this season is to win the World Cup.
