This coming week, Slovenian president Borut Pahor will hold the first round of talks with the new deputy group heads about the future coalition.

The biggest question remains whether the conservative New Slovenia party will be able to join the emerging coalition. Their reform agenda is the least compatible with SMC’s party program. However, the party is still willing to negotiate with Cerar.

The Social Democrats (SD) said that they will consult the party membership on whether to join the coalition, as members are still divided on the issue. The party is scheduled to meet with Pahor on Wednesday.
