Africa Week is underway in Maribor. Cultural and arts associations and institutions from Maribor, in cooperation with the local African Association, officially opened Africa Week today at the Vetrinski Dvor. The week celebrates African unity, diversity and the coming together of Africans in Slovenians. The festival events include workshops, lectures, round tables, dance, music, films, sports as well as African food and drinks. The festival ends this weekend with a culinary event at the Maribor city park.
Yesterday, ahead of the official opening, Radio Si played a friendly match against a team of Africans living in Maribor. The match ended in a draw :)
