Officials have given the go-ahead to a planned merger of the second and third-largest daily newspapers in Slovenia: Dnevnik and Večer.
The joint company will have a 40% share of the print market. It took a year to get approval for the merger.
The two papers each generated around 1.5 million euros in net profit last year.
Večer and Dnevnik will continue to exist as separate papers. However, there are plans to jointly cover things like foreign affairs and sports.
