Early estimates for the drought are coming in. Officials believe corn will be down between 40 and 50%. Pumpkins and potatoes are down 30 to 50%. Produce will be hit by at least 40%, with some fruits and vegetables reporting an 80% or even total loss.
Prime Minister Robert Golob noted that drought will likely continue and the damage will continue to grow. He said measures were expected.
Some parts of the country have seen some rain in the past days, the coming days will be hot and dry.
