A fundraising campaign has been launched to fund the Slovenian Press Agency STA.
The STA has not received any state funds for four months now, after a dispute with the government. The STA says its figthing to survive. The campaign is organized by the Association of Slovenian Journalists. The head of the association, Petra Lesjak Tušek, says the main aim of the campaign is to prevent the STA from going bankrupt. The month-long campaign hopes to raise two million euros for the press agency, via small SMS donations and potential larger donors.
