The government has slightly modified its strategy for fighting the Covid-19 epidemic. PM Janez Janša said once the situation improves on a national level, the government will adopt a regional approach. That means a five-tier system, in which regions will be placed in either the black, red, orange, yellow or green tier. Restrictive measures will start to be eased only in regions with lower infection rates. PM Janša added that the safe reopening of schools and kindergartens remains a priority. The current lock-down measures have been extended until the 18th of January. The situation will be assessed every week.
