The Slovenian government has agreed to implement an aid package worth 200 million Euro to help vulnerable households and businesses in the face of rising energy costs.

The deal was announced at a press conference after 7 p.m. yesterday evening.

Vouchers worth at least 150 Euro will help up to 700,000 people, including around 400,000 pensioners.

It will cost the state coffers around 106 million Euro.

Economy Minister Zdravo Počivalšek also announced 70 million Euro of aid for farmers and small business leaders, as well as lower network fees for electricity and lower excise duties on fuel imports.
