The NEK Krško Nuclear Power Plant will be taken off the grid for a month-long scheduled repair. The Krško plant is Slovenia's only nuclear power station. Officials say it's been operating for 513 consecutive days, often at full capacity to compensate for the lower output of Slovenia's hydropower plants caused by draughts. The Krško nuclear plant provides around a fifth of Slovenia's power and the shortfall caused by the repairs will be covered by the country's hydro and thermal power plants.
