According to preliminary data from Ecologists without Borders, more than 28,000 volunteers collected more than 77 tonnes of rubbish in the Cleanup Slovenia campaign last Saturday
Well over 60% of Slovenian municipalities joined the World Cleanup day. Ecologists without Borders estimated that waste was removed from 68 illegal dump sites.
Worldwide, the campaign was joined by 15 million volunteers in 158 countries.
A charity cycle took place in Ljubljana today. It was organised by Slovenian Karitas in association with the Polish and Ukrainian embassies.
