Boris A. Novak's book “The Door of No Return" won the Book of the Year Grand Prix at the 33rd Slovenian Book Fair. The first Slovenian epic poem took Novak 20 years to write, it spans over 2,300 pages and comes in three volumes. The event also saw the Slovenian-German translator Štefan Vevar being awarded the “Fabjan Hafner Award” for his translation of “The Rings of Saturn” by W. G. Sebald, and a special mention went to website LUD Literatura, for achievements in electronic publishing and in promoting books. The Slovenian Book Fair will conclude this evening with a talk with Austrian-Slovenian author and poet Maja Haderlap.
