The Hungarian bank OTP is in talks to take over Slovenia’s NKBM bank, according to Reuters.

NKBM and equity fund Apollo declined to comment.

Retuers reported the deal could be worth nearly 1 billion.

OTP acquired SKB Bank in Slovenia in 2019. If the takeover of NKBM takes place, OTP will hold 29% of the banking market in Slovenia, surpassing NLB, at 23%.
