Slovenian Police have recorded 1275 illegal entries this year. Little under half of those who tried to illegally come into Slovenia were Afghan citizens. Most illegal immigrants were caught in municipalities Koper, Ljubljana and Murska Sobota.

Over 52.000 meters of panel fences and over 112.000 meters of cutting wire have been set up till now, to prevent further illegal entries. The Slovenian armed forces are also cooperating with the police, to implement higher control of the so-called “green border.”
