So far this year, drunk drivers have caused well over 1300 accidents in Slovenia, in which 30 people died.
That’s a 2,3 % increase in the number of accidents and a 50% increase in the number of casualties compared to the year before. Since December is a month filled with events and holidays, police today increased the number of random traffic checks. These will be conducted until December 20th. Offenders face fines, while some exemplary drivers will be offered free tickets to the traditional Police Orchestra concert with guests.
