A new state-of-the-art climbing centre opened in Prevalje today in the northern Koroška region. The centre boasts more than 2,200m2 of indoor and outdoor climbing areas, as well an astronomical observatory. Valued at around 5 million euros, the project was financed by the Ministry in charge of sports, the Eco Fund, and private donations.
The climbing world and Olympic champion Janja Garnbret, who also hails from the region, attended the opening ceremony. She said she intends to train and prepare for the next Olympic Games at the centre.
