Last year, Primož Roglič won the so-called 'Race to the Sun' from Paris to Nice, while Pogačar won the last two editions of the coast to coast Tirreno-Adriatico race. This year, the roles were reversed, with Pogačar winning in France and Roglič in Italy.
World no.1 Pogačar took the final stage on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice to finish a dominant victory ahead of his main rivals Jonas Vingegaard of Denmark and David Gaudu of France, having also won two other stages during the 7-day race.
It was a similarly dominant display by former no.1 Roglič, who also won three stages on this year's edition of Tirreno-Adriatico.
Both riders have now won that race twice in the last 5 years.
A charity cycle took place in Ljubljana today. It was organised by Slovenian Karitas in association with the Polish and Ukrainian embassies.
