Slovenians are heading to the polls today to elect a new parliament, in the 8th general elections since the independence. 1.7 million voters will choose among over 1,600 candidates for 90 seats in the parliament. A total of 25 party lists are on the ballot, 21 of which in all eight electoral units. Over 3,000 polling stations will be opened from 7 AM to 7 PM. After polls close, exit polls are to be released. Most votes will be counted before 10 PM when near-final results will be announced.
