During yesterday's state ceremony, President Nataša Pirc Musar affirmed that Slovenia's NATO membership was a wise choice, benefiting its citizens and enhancing national security. She emphasized the importance of collective defense for stability and security, highlighting the need for each ally to strengthen both individual and joint defense capabilities to deter and respond to potential threats.

Later in the day, demonstrators gathered in Ljubljana, advocating for Slovenia's withdrawal from NATO and urging action to halt increased military spending, cease military and financial support for the Ukrainian conflict, impose an arms embargo on Israel, and enforce sanctions against the "Israeli apartheid regime."

The rally was attended by senior members of the Left party, which boycotted the state ceremony.
