Children in Slovenia are less physically active, more overweight, and suffer from digital addiction. The latest report shows that the share of overweight kids in Slovenia has increased by 30% during the epidemic. The time spent sitting has increased by 63%. The Ljubljana Faculty of Sport says kids on average spent around 7 hours a day looking at screens.
Schools in Slovenia were closed for more than 100 days this school year. Gregor Starc from the Faculty of Sport says the side effects form the school closures are worse than the virus itself. Meanwhile government officials have said that schools will be closed down again, if the Covid-19 situation worsens again in the autumn.
