The national railway operator unveiled 10 newly purchased double-decker trains today.
Infrastructure Minister Jernej Vrtovec and the head of the Slovenian Railways company took the first ride to Litija. They said the new trains will make railway transport more appealing. The new trains can reach speeds of up to 160 km/h and offer Wi-Fi Internet connection.
The Slovenia Railways plans to purchase another 72 trains by the year 2024.
Also today the cargo division of the Slovenian Railways company finalized a strategic partnership agreement with Czech EP Logistics International in a bid to become a leading rail freight and logistics provider in the region.
