Slovenian cyclist Tadej Pogačar won today's 9th stage of the Tour de France.

He won the 154km stage from Pau to Laruns in the Pyrenees mountains in just over 3 hours and 55 minutes.

Pogačar beat countryman Primož Roglič into 2nd place in a sprint finish. Switzerland's Marc Hirschi, who had led on his own for 90 km, was 3rd.

Roglič takes over the race leader's yellow jersey from Britain's Adam Yates.

Yates had held the yellow jersey for a number of days, just 3 seconds ahead of the Slovenian.

There will be no racing tomorrow, as the riders enjoy the first rest day of this year's Tour de France.
